Perception
What is the member and community perception of the services and products
                  offered by your club/federation?

                  Planning
Market research should be conducted with current and past members to see what
has been done, what is being done now and what could be done in the future to
best meet the needs of members. This research will fit into the overall marketing
plan for the club/federation. A marketing plan gives your club/federation a formal
document to work from to achieve its marketing goals.

                  Packaging
How will the services and products on offer be packaged to best meet the needs
of members? Ask questions and consider:
                  • what time is best
                  • how often
                  • who will the staff be
                  • what facilities and equipment are on offer, etc.?

                  Positioning
How will the club/federation, and the services and products it offers, be positioned
in the market? Will they be:
                  • exclusive
                  • open to all
                  • cheap
                  • expensive?

                           Activity 3.10

Using the following table, briefly outline where you feel your club/federation sits
within the marketing mix when you compare it to other sport and recreation
                  organisations.
