Guam National Olympic Committee Programs
GNOC Fundraisers and Events
All National Federations are required to be involved in fundraising efforts of the Guam National Olympic
Committee as well as events endorsed by the GNOC through the Guam National Athletes Commission
and GNOC Women and Sport Commission. Information on programs are available on the GNOC
website.
World Anti-Doping Agency and Oceania Regional Anti-Doping Organization
All National Federations must follow the directives and guidelines of the World Anti-Doping Agency as
mandated by the International Olympic Committee. The Oceania Regional Anti-Doping Organization is
the governing body in our region. The Guam National Olympic Committee has endorsed ORADO who
has trained several members on island to conduct outreach programs, seminars as well as “In-
Competition” and “Out-of-Competition” Testing. The testing includes urine and blood samples. There
should be no interference by any persons when test is conducted, as this will cause a breech in the
procedures and subsequent citations leading to possible suspension and ban.
Guam National Athletes Commission
The Guam National Athletes Commission is endorsed and commissioned by the Guam National Olympic
Committee in compliance with the International Olympic Committee mandates. The group is comprised
of one male and one female representatives from each National Federation. The representatives are
elected by their peers from the respective National Federations and should sit on the Executive Board of
the NF with one vote each. This group elects their officers of which the President and Secretary-General
serve on the GNOC Board with one vote each. The term is through the Olympic Quadrennial, voted
every four years.
The commission deals with Athlete issues and augments directives for consideration to the GNOC Board
and General Assembly. The body is also in charge of hosting events such as the Olympic Day activities,
Athletes’ Forum and other programs provided by IOC and Oceania National Olympic Committees
Athletes Commission (ONOC AC). The commission is also a member of ONOC AC.
GNOC Women and Sport Commission
The Guam Women and Sport Commission is endorsed and commissioned by the Guam National Olympic
Committee in compliance with the IOC mandates. The group is comprised of one female representative
from each National Federation. Their mission is to ensure gender equality in Sports and provide
programs beneficial for women in sports.
GNOC is in the process of facilitating the Women and Sport program and has entered a time line of no
later than February 2018 to formulate the commission.
