Games Preparatory Guidelines

The following is a Games preparatory guideline established by the Guam National Olympic Committee to
ensure that all National Federations are advised of the procedures used to ensure maximum
representation of each sport in the following Games:
• Pacific Games
• Pacific Mini Games
• Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games
• Micronesian Games
• East Asian Youth Games

Sample Administrative Check List for Team Guam Selection Process:

1. Is the event an OPEN qualifier? (Open, for this criterion, shall constitute fair and equal
participation of all interested athletes.) Yes No
2. Provide information on Announcements for OPEN qualifying:
Publication Date(s) of Publication
(i.e. Newspaper, Television Station) (ex. November 1, 2015 to
January 1, 2015)
3. Notice should be provided 90 (ninety) days prior to the start of the qualifying round to provide
all athletes time to prepare.
4. Provide list of contact persons and information (i.e. Phone Number, email address, webpage)
5. Provide list of qualifying dates, time, venue, name of person in charge
6. Provide information on qualifying standards
7. Provide information on what is expected from an athlete trying out for the team
8. Provide criteria for selection of athletes who will represent Team Guam
9. Provide list of qualified/certified coaches and/or managers including experience in field.
10. Provide copies of information to GNOC and GNAC.
