2.1.7 No employee is allowed to re-enter the GNOC building until advised by the Evacuation
Officer, Fire or Police Department.
2.1.8 Depending on the length of the threat employees may be required to disperse to their
respective homes from the Assembly Point.
43.2 Cyclone, Tsunami or Earthquake Alert
In the event of cyclone, tsunami or earthquake alert the following procedure will apply:
• Once the alarm is raised the Evacuation Officer who will be the Executive Assistant or
Administrative Assistant in his or her absence will advise you when to evacuate the building.
• In cases such as an earthquake and tsunami alert, all staff members must:
o move to the Assembly Point (located Robat Street) indicated in the Disaster Evacuation
Map (Please refer Appendix L – a soft copy of this diagram is available from the GNOC
drop box) which is located on higher ground before dispersing to their respective homes.
• Staff members must follow the Evacuation Officers instructions correctly.
• Staff members that are required to collect their family members from school or work must disperse
from the Assembly Area.
• Calmly evacuate the premises through the nearest emergency exit.
• Check-in with Evacuation Officer once you arrive at the Assembly Point.
44 First Aid
The Administrative Assistant maintains a first aid kit for the convenience of all employees.
In case of serious injury sustained during working hours the Executive Director or the Secretary
General must be notified at once.
He / she will make the necessary arrangements for further medical treatment if necessary.
45 Death and Injury Notification
45.1 Death or Serious Injury
When an employee is killed or seriously injured on or off-duty, immediate verbal notification
will be made to the Executive Director who will notify the Secretary General.
The employee’s supervisor shall submit a written report no later than the following workday to
the Secretary General.
This report shall include the date, location, cause, extent of the injuries, and property damaged.
Serious injury in this instance means an injury that could result in the employee’s death or
disability.
