to show racism online and want to attract other people to have the same view as

               they have.

               Media Bias - Politics

Media sites have been under fire for being sided with Trump or other political

groups, many people were exposed to being a racist via social media apps. There

               are also biases in politics.

A research paper shows that the bias of the media in elections influences the voters.

The media is one of the main and important sources of information for the voters

during the election period, and the media could affect the choice of voters to

choose a certain party or candidate. The paper shows an exit poll that was taken

in Minnesota-St. Paul Twin City area during the 2000 Senate Elections as an

example, and analyzed the difference of political stance, income level, political

knowledge and interest, and percentage of votes for the winning senator from the

readers of two local newspapers, Star Tribune and Pioneer Press, but did not show

an objectively analyzed influence by bias based on facts. The both newspaper'

coverage about the senate election did not give any difference that would give a

specific bias to the readers, but we can tell the difference from the tones of the

articles, where Star Tribune presented a more positive report about the Democratic

candidate Dayton, who had won the elections. The conclusion shows that even

though there would not be objective bias based on how frequent the newspapers

report about a certain political issue, the tone and description in the articles could

bias the opinions of the readers, or provoke like-minded people to strengthen their

support in a certain politician or party.

To understand the media bias, it is crucial to discuss the history of modern

journalism in the United States. It has only been around 100 years since the

balanced reports and reporting objective facts became the standard in journalism.

The media, from the gold rush period in the mid 1800s to the yellow journalism

                                                                                                       30
