ABSTRACT
Our research will delve deeper into the effects, consequences, and impacts of
the boycott of Japanese goods and products by Korea towards local politics in the
Republic of Korea, and portray how it has, to a certain extent, steered Korea towards
a new direction with regards to policies and sentiments. There are several huge
conflicts between the two nearby countries, Korea and Japan. In the past, only
some Koreans boycotted Japan, but in 2018, Koreans started boycotting earnestly;
therefore, our team will do a research on why Koreans have started the boycott of
Japanese goods and products, and what kinds of social impacts it can cause. Our
team used surveys and interviews to gather different opinions of different
perspectives toward the boycott, to approach this matter objectively. Also,we will
find out whether many of them are participating in the boycott themselves, to see
how effective the boycott is. As a result, we got many positive answers for the
surveys and interviews, which could help us to figure out the flow of the situation
of the boycott.
