The event was staged at Daventry Indoor Bowling
Centre with £930 in prizes for the finalists. 96 players
in 32 teams battled it out for the prizes, with a plate
competition for those eliminated from the main event.
After fighting their way through the last 16 with a
comfortable 16 - 7 scoreline, Mick Tandy, Scott &
Malcolm Follis faced Nicky Bartlett, Elise Daniell &
Jake Atrill.
An exchange of singles left the score at two all
after 5 ends including a tied end. At this point the
Scott Follis trio struck with a three and a two to lead
7 - 2, and although the Nicky Bartlett triple took the
last two ends they eventually lost 5 - 7.

OPEN TRIPLES WINNERS
OPEN TRIPLES WINNERS eased through the last 16 with a 12 - 4 win and faced
Gary Best, Jack Pye & Barry Hedges, who needed a
sudden death extra end single to make Quarters. The Ryan Knight Triple looked to be coasting at
8 - 3 with just two ends to go but a single and a 3 from the
Gary Best triple almost closed the gap but they lost 7 - 8.
Craig Strong, Jon Pitcher & Josh Hale eased through
the last 16 by 9 shots to 4. Ryan Young, Matt Smith & Cal-
lum Goodman led 8 - 0 after four ends of their last 16 match
but their lead was wiped at one stage but a last but one
end 3 eventually got them home 11 - 9. However in their
quarter final match they were leading going into the last
end but this time a last end three was scored against them,
leaving Craig Strong’s team with a 9 - 7 victory.
The last quarter final saw Dave Lamb, Richard Jeffrey
& Ryan Fox, 15 - 7 winners of the previous round playing
Lawrence Moffet, Lee & Bronagh Toleman who had edged
through the last 16 by 8 shots to 5. in this match the Moffet
triple opened up OPEN TRIPLES FINALISTS
OPEN TRIPLES FINALISTS
with a 4 but by two
ends later the match was all-square. The match was hard
fought all the way but the Moffet team could only score a
single on the last end to lose 7 - 8.
In the Semi-final the Dave Lamb team faced Ryan
Knight’s team, with Lamb leading 6 - 4 after five of the nine
ends but four successive singles gave the Knight team a 7
- 6 victory. The other Semi-final was not so close.
After two ends the Scott Follis team led 5 - 0 but a
stunning full house 6 on end three put Craig Strong in front
6 - 5. They also won the next four ends to lead 10 - 5 and
3rd PLACED TRIPLE eventually won 13 - 7.
