The final started with Craig Strong, Jon Pitcher & 5
Josh Hale leading 3 - 0 after two end but a four to
Ryan Knight, Danny Langdon & Adam Smith gave
them a single shot lead.
Ends six and seven were the decisive ends with the
Ryan Knight triple taking a two and a three to lead 10 - 4.
Back came the Strong triple with a three and needing an-
other three to force an extra end they could only score a
two to go down 9 - 10. First prize was £450 and the run-
ners-up got £300.
The losing semi-finalists played off for 3rd and 4th
place and this turned out to be a titanic battle. At first Mick
PLATE WINNERS
PLATE WINNERS Tandy, Scott & Malcolm Follis seemed to be running away
with the match opening 1- 2 - 3 to be 6 0 up. However,
David Lamb, Richard Jeffrey & Ryan Fox fought back taking the next four ends to be just one shot
down. They then dropped a single but took a two on the last end to draw the match and in mounting
excitement, Tandy, Follis & Follis scored the all important
single for an 8 - 7 victory and £120 with the losing team
getting £60.
In the plate Quarter finals, Anthony Fautley, Peter
Hore & Karen Watson eased through the last 16 by 12
shots to 5 and faced Adam Easthorpe, Allan Williams &
Phillip Warr who had romped through 12 - 2.
The latter triple established an early 4 - 1 lead after
four ends but the Anthony Fautley triple took the next four
ends to win 11 - with the last end unplayed. Alex Kley,
James Bucknell & Sam Harvey eased through 10 - 6 to
play Tracey Bailey, Jean Woods & Elaine Willies, 9 - 7win-
ners in the last 16. This turned out to be a one-sided affair
with the Alex Kley team winning 14 - 3. PLATE FINALISTS
PLATE FINALISTS
Daniel Agar, Joe & David Newsome easily won their
last 16 game by 11 - 3 but found it much harder against Edward Sawbridge, Chris Terry & Fred
Pearson, who had romped through their last 16 game by 16 shots to 2. The result of the match
was in doubt right until the last end, with just a single shot difference but Joe Newsome triple held
their nerve and scored a single to win 7 - 5.
The last Quarter final saw Luke Jolly, Dave Studden & Glyn Roy, last 16 winners 9 - 6 against
James Smith, Paul Pomeroy & Thomas Perris, last 16 winners by 16 - 3. Luke Jolly’s triple led 8
- 4 going into the last end but were given a fright as James
Smith almost scored 4 for a draw but only managed a 3 to
lose 7 - 8.
In the Semi-finals Luke Jolly was 6 - 7 down going
into the last end against Joe Newsome but managed a 2
to snatch an 8 - 7 victory. The other Semi-final was equally
close with Anthony Fautley and Alex Kley locked at 7 all
going into the last end but the Fautley triple managed the
vital single that gave them an 8 - 7 victory.
In the Plate Final Anthony Fautley, Peter Hore &
Karen Watson were in devastating form and despite all the
efforts of Luke Jolly, Dave Studden & Glyn Roy they could
not prevent the Fautley trio from winning 12 - 3.
