Wonford once again staged their an-
nual Triples Tournament with a full
house number of 36 players in 12
teams.
After their four games Winkleigh
were the only unbeaten team with a
plus of eighteen shots but had been
held to a draw by Morten Hampstead,
giving Winkleigh 7 points.
Mutterton started off with a 15 -
8 loss to the Nomads but bounced
back with three straight victories for 6
points and a plus of 13 and second
place.
They played the St. Thomas
team in the last crucial match in which
Wonford Triples Winners in the front from victory would have given St Thomas
Winkleigh, Bob Weafer, Lorraine Axtell & total victory on 8 points but a 16 - 5
John Horsham with runners-up Alan Shere, win ensured Mutterton their second
Jenny Curtis and Arthur Cuff. place and stopped St Thomas’s un-
beaten run.
