Exercise 3: Preparing a Worksite Label

Scenario:

Ethylene Glycol Antifreeze is a controlled product that is used by the maintenance
department for winterizing vehicles. It is applied in an open area, in small amounts, but
to a lot of equipment.

The antifreeze purchased in 10 gallon containers is awkward to handle, so in the shop
the antifreeze is decanted into 4 litre containers.

Task:

Prepare a Worksite Label in the box below, based on the information provided on the Supplier
Label on page 14.

(1) Determine the 3 required content elements of a Worksite Label.

(2) The information necessary for the safe handling of a material should be brief and
accurate. It should alert the user to what he/she needs to know right away. when
creating the Worksite Label, consider both
 how the product is being used in the workplace, and
 health / fire / safety hazards of this product.
