                       The first Albany CC kicked off with the Moonwalking Bear Awareness Test – others may

               know it as the ‘Basketball Test’. If you watch it carefully (and don’t count the number of basketball


               passes by the players) you will definitely spot the moonwalking bear. Made as an awareness test

               highlighting the issue with drivers having to watch out for cyclists in the UK however, it was used


               during the first CC event in Albany to highlight how most people fail to recognize their own biases.


                       The purpose of the video played at the first Albany NY Community Conversation was to

               reveal how ‘Confirmation Bias’ also called confirmatory bias or ‘myside bias’, [term coined by


               Harvard Professor David Perkins] (Baron 2000, p. 195) is the tendency to search for, interpret,

               favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs or hypotheses.



                       RTPs (repeated thought patterns) of this type is a form of cognitive bias and a systematic

               error of inductive reasoning based on ignorance of internal dialogue (ID). People display this bias
