The $748m Al Udeid Air Base development in Doha - Qatar,
under construction off Salwa Road, and represented by the
State of Qatar Ministry of Defence GHQ, is a rolling
contract made up of two major packages; New Runway and
Associated Works – Package 25 and Strategic Military
Senior Resident Engineer – Facilities – Package 27. The contract involves the
(MEP Services) construction of around 112,000 square meters of usable
White Young floor area, made up of maintenance hangers, outside

storage, cargo hangers, air lift squadron buildings,
passenger terminals, security offices, calibration shelters,
bus shelters, and covered parking, helicopter parking
hangers and new runway and taxiway related links. The
electrical Total Connected Load (TCL) of the two packages
is around 16 MW. The project represents an ongoing phase
of the strategic military facility in a growing neighborhood
on one of Doha’s strategically important arterial roadways,

September 2012 – September 2014
The Mutrah Fish Market project in Muscat, Oman, costing
$21 million, was undertaken by Muscat Municipality and
designed by Snøhetta and Buro Happold. The initiative
aimed to enhance the visitor experience and maintain
functionality for fishermen and processors. The 5,025
square meters facility includes fish-processing, fish-
selling, vegetable and meat markets, a cafe, and a
restaurant, with a Total Connected Load (TCL) of 1.4 MW.
Notable features are the curved concrete walls and an
Senior Resident Engineer – intricate aluminium and steel shading canopy, posing
(MEP Services) design challenges in the maritime and earthquake-prone
Buro Happold setting. The structure prioritizes naturally steady air
Oman & Qatar conditions, and bespoke platforms with a chilled water
system are employed for fish display.
The $290m North Gate Shopping Mall project in Doha -
Qatar, constructed on Al Shamal North Road, and

construction of around 375,000 square meters of usable
area, with a podium comprising two levels of car park, a
three-level mall and six, five-level office buildings. The
MUTRAH FISH MARKET electrical Total Connected Load (TCL) of the project is
around 44 MW. The project represents the first phase of
the North Gate mixed-use development in a growing
neighbourhood on one of Doha’s strategically important
arterial roadways, Al Shamal Road (North Road), north of
Doha’s West Bay central business district. The North Gate
Mall is positioned as a mid to premium development with
