Fred threadgill’s

                       Famous Austin Meat rub

                             (Janis Joplin is not the only thing Fred discovered)

                                         Ingredients





               1/3 cup sugar
               1/4th cup salt
               3 tbsp garlic powder
               4 tbsp black pepper
               1 tbsp paprika
               1 tbsp cayenne pepper
               1 tbsp ground thyme
               1 tbsp celery seed
               1 tbsp onion powder

                                         Lagniappe


               Mix all ingredients together and store in a mason type jar

               Rub the meat down very well with Molasses or Prepared Mustard

               Coat with the Rub and let set overnight.

               Remove and allow the meat to dry before smoking.
