Exercise and Discuss:
Together, as a class, brainstorm as many living and non-living things you can think of in any

one ecosystem. You could even pick your neighbourhood park as an ecosystem. Make a list.
For example, sparrows, dogs, trees, pebbles and so on.

Material needed: one ball of wool

Stand in a circle. Half the class will pick one living or non-living thing
from the list above and imagine himself/herself as
the chosen thing (if there are more learners
than the things on the list, then two or
more learners can pick the same

thing).

The other half of the class will
become the human activity
list: buildings, factories, plastic

waste, garbage and humans.

Throw the ball of wool towards
each other. When you catch the

ball, you have to name the thing
you have chosen to be. Keep
passing the ball until the centre of
the circle is crisscrossed with wool, to

form a web.
