The Param Vir (‘Bravest of the Brave’) Chakra is the highest military award given to

soldiers who show exceptional deeds of bravery and selfless sacrifice for the country. The
bronze disc has the National Emblem at the centre on
a raised circle. It has the signs of vajras (thunderbolts)

around the emblem.
