Story 7
Russia: The Story House
“Keep on Keeping on.”
The Bubble landed on an old stone street, and Claudia and Craig stared in
amazement at the incredible building that stood before them. It had tall towers and
brightly colored domes, almost looking like a gigantic gingerbread house topped with
scoops of ice cream!
“Where are we?” Craig asked out loud.
Without warning, a booming voice answered, “You are in Russia, in
the historic city of Moscow, to be exact.”
Craig, Claudia, and the Travel Bug looked around. High up on a
tower wall, the face of a magni?cent lion peered down at them. Next
to it was a human face, which also spoke to them. “This is the Story
House, a magical place were Russian Traditions and Fairy Tales
come to life.”
“You are welcome to go in,” said the lion, “but be
warned: If you stay longer than an hour, you will not be
able to get out again.”
“Okay,” said Claudia, looking at the watch face
of the glowing Yak-Yak. It said eleven o’clock. “We’ll
be out by twelve.”
The lion nodded and the front doors opened.
Eagerly, the travelers entered the Story House and
instantly found themselves not in a room but at the edge of a
pond surrounded by trees and ?lled with four elegant swans.
A moment later, the kids gasped in surprise as the
swans took off their feather coats and became four beautiful
human princesses!
