personnel record. If the situation improves and is considered satisfactory, no further
disciplinary action will occur. If the situation does not improve, further disciplinary
measures, including termination of employment, may result.
• Final Notice: A final notice is the last warning to the employee about the need to address a
performance or conduct issue. If sufficient improvement does not occur, further disciplinary
measures may be taken, up to and including termination of employment.
• Termination: If the problem remains uncorrected or improvement is not adequate, the
employee is terminated.
An employee may respond in writing when a corrective action notice is received. The written response
will be placed in the employee’s personnel record.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Goodwill-Easter Seals offers a confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all employees and
their immediate families. Employee Assistance Program services are designed to address difficult
experiences that employees sometimes encounter. Employee Assistance Program counselors
(professionals in the fields of psychology, social work, and counseling) are a resource to you and your
family in areas such as stress, parenting, divorce, financial concerns, substance abuse, and workplace
issues.
These programs are offered through a third party to respect the privacy of those who use the services.
Information on our EAP can be found on the organization’s intranet.
COMPENSATION
EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATIONS
For the purposes of determining the applicability of various policies, practices, and benefits, Goodwill-
Easter Seals assigns employment classifications based on primary job responsibilities, duties, and work
schedules.
• Regular: An employee who works a consistent number of hours each week.
• Variable: An employee whose hours and schedule can change each week. These employees
are included in the Look Back period under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
• Full-time regular employees consistently scheduled 35+ hours per week: Eligible for all
GESMN employer-sponsored benefits.
• Part-time regular employees consistently scheduled 30-34+ hours per week: Eligible for
Medical Insurance, HSA, Dental, and EAP.
• Part-time variable employees who average 30+ hours per week in an ACA measurement
period: Eligible for Medical Insurance, HSA, Dental and EAP
