st,

holidays

floating holidays until January 1st at that time; they will receive Five (5) floating holidays.

HOLIDAY WORK – RETAIL EMPLOYEES
Hourly retail employees who work on a Goodwill-Easter Seals observed holiday will be paid time-and-a-
half for hours worked on that holiday.
PAID TIME OFF (PTO)
Paid Time Off (PTO) is paid leave, which combines vacation and sick days into a time-off bank. PTO hours
are based on the employee’s classification and length of time with the organization. Employees
determine how to use their time off. However, time off must be requested in advance and approved by
the employee’s manager. It should not disrupt the operation of the department. Employees not eligible
for PTO but work in St Paul or Minneapolis are eligible for earned sick and safe time. GESMN complies
with both Minneapolis and St. Paul Sick and Safe Time. Each summary for earned sick and safe time for
St Paul and Minneapolis can be found on GESMN Intranet. All paid sick and safe time required to be
accorded to employees under applicable laws or ordinances must be taken as part of PTO; therefore,
PTO's use should be planned accordingly. If you are eligible for both PTO and sick and safe time, any sick
and safe time used will reduce your PTO bank.
Employees accrue PTO hours up to a maximum of 120 hours. Once an employee reaches 120 hours, they
will not accrue additional PTO until time has been used to bring them below the 120-hour maximum.
PTO hours must be earned before it can be used, and there is a waiting period of 90 days for new
employees to use PTO.
Exempt Employees may not take unpaid time until they have exhausted all available PTO and float hours
first. Non-exempt Employees may not take unpaid time off unless they have exhausted all PTO and float
hours. Any exceptions to taking unpaid time off without exhausting PTO and float for Non-Exempt
employees need Manager approval and can only be for one day up to 8 hours. Employees cannot use
PTO to put them in excess of 40 hours paid per week.
