Mary Ann Kasper

The Order of Silver Trefoil, Chapter 7, honors Mary Ann Kasper
in remembrance of the many ways she dedicated her time
to the girls in camp at Jessie Mae and how she prepared new
leaders to be comfortable sharing activities with Girl Scouts of
all ages, and how many of her tips, stories and hints Mary Ann
was willing to share with the many she trained over the years.
Her smile, cheerful attitude, and her commitment to the Girl
Scout Movement, showed many new leaders how to relax and
to share Girl Scouting with the girls in a new troop on their frst
trip to camp or with an older troop setting off for its twentieth
camping trip. Mary Ann always encouraged the leaders and
trainers she taught and other volunteers she spoke with, to
stretch the girls to appreciate their neighborhood, their own
Council, or their horizon. Her sisters in OSTA remember and
relish Mary Ann’s spirit, her positivity, and her promise to “make
the world a better place.”
