Jean Reynard
Nature hikes meant a great deal to the Scouts as Jean Reynard
led them into the beautiful woods at Camps Hilaka and Julia
Crowell. She helped the girls to identify wild fowers, make
nature prints, and create stationery and cards. Jean’s love of
nature inspired her to train many leaders to appreciate it, too.
Her troop learned to cook over the campfre as well as on the
stove, even celebrating Thanksgiving by roasting a turkey! She
helped them to develop skills that would serve a lifetime. Every
Christmas, the Scouts get together and fondly remember Jean.

Dean Rightnour
Dean (Verdine) was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader whose
creativity, ingenuity and imagination ensured that her troops
experiences were educational and fun. She served her own
girls and their troops as well as her Brook Park community
and the Lake Erie Girl Scout Council at many levels including
fundraising for the council as a chair. She loved Girl Scouting!
If you needed a new idea, she would create one. She emulated
Disney’s “fgment”. She generated enthusiasm and imagination
with everything she did for many decades. Lived 1934-2003.
