1 Look at these two photos of a boy in his room. Describe one of the photos to your
partner. Your partner has to tell you which photo it is.

2 Your town councillor wants to close down your youth club and build a block of flats there
instead.
You and your friends feel:

• that there isn’t enough space for flats
• that the people in the flats won’t have a good standard of living
• that young people will start misbehaving without a club to go to
You have organised a petition and have more than 100 people’s names on it. Write a letter to
your councillor, telling him about the petition, and your views.
