Although no inter-house fixtures were played, Janice Parnell contributed a
worthy effort in the hockey field, while basketball saw Lynne O'Malley and
Gail Crollick make all sing praises of the blue banner.
In athletics, Cunningham revealed hidden talent and made almost a clean
sweep in the boys' championships — Ricketts in the open, Fiege under 16, and
Marshall under 15. These, coupled with Ramsden's win in the under 14 high
jump (Deighto 2nd); McTaggart in the open shotput (L. Zubervitch 3rd); and
winning teams in the open relays (Ricketts, McTaggart, Williams and Triplett)
made for a boys' victory. Unfortunately the gallant fight by Jeanette Sands and
the girls was in vain and the overall total found us third.
To these and to all the house supporters who helped us in any way we offer
thanks and hope that the Stirling efforts by Mr. Gallwey, Miss Nixon, Mr. Mayfield
and Miss Deaville find deserved appreciation.

                                  KENNEDY
                 HOUSE MISTRESS : Mrs. Taege.
                 HOUSE MASTER : Mr. Lee.
HOUSE CAPTAINS : Jacqueline Mayne, Warren Schweitzer.
Gold ! A brilliant colour, and a brilliant year this has been for Kennedy
House, winning both the Swimming and Athletics Carnivals.
This year Kennedy's colours will appear on the magazine — premier house
         for 1962 — a welcome change, don't you think ?
In inter-house basketball Kennedy did extremely well, the A team being
undefeated. Congratulations to Kathy Rice, Barbara McQuillan, Dagmara Rosickis,
Alayne Smith and Ann Ackworth, who were chosen to represent the school in the
         inter-school basketball matches.
In the field of tennis, Kennedy was well represented by both boys and girls.
Tony Grant <A team), N. J. Sims, C. Beard and J. Myatt (B team). In the
girls' tennis, Bev. Gunderson, G. Thompson, J. Scarborough and Nancy Roulston
must be congratulated on their fine efforts.
Kennedy boys represented their house well in inter-house football. Special
mention tc A. Griffin, H. Dey, R. Cook and B. Simmons. Our A team tied with
Mitchell until the finals, when Mitchell scored 6-3 to win the total points score.
Owing to continually wet Wednesdays only two inter-house cricket matches
were played, Kennedy being well represented.
This year Kennedy succeeded in winning the Annual Swimming Carnival,
taking the honours from Oxley for the first time in three years. However, special
congratulations must be extended to Carol Bryning and Alan Preston, winners of
the open championships, both from Oxley, and House Captains at that. Among
the Kennedy swimmers special mention is given to Barbara McQuillan (under 16
champion with S. Hunting of Oxley), Roslyn Gwunne, and Ann Ackworth (under
14 champion). Among the boys, Phillip Holland showed excellent form and
gained the most points to win the under 15 championship. Special mention to
         T. Wiggins, H. Dey and Wayne Young.
Kennedy won the Athletics Carnival for the second year in succession. This
win (as that of the Swimming Carnival) was not due to individual effort, but to
the effort of the whole house working as a team. In this, our keenest competitor
(and main worry) was Oxley House. We won by the narrow margin of 29 points.
Congratulations to Elizabeth Gibbs and Barbara McQuillan, winners of the
under 15 and under 16 championships respectively. G. Hambrook and
