February 8 : "Deeds not words".
            Prefects were presented to the school on the general parade.
         February 22 : First cadet parade for the year.
         February 26 : "I doubt the integrity of it, but welcome".
            The inspectors arrived, prolonging their visit over a week.
         March 5 : Boys' Swimming Carnival was held for Kennedy's benefit.
         March 7 : "It is not raining rain to me, it's raining daffodils", and the golden
            streak of Kennedy quickly took the lead to win both the Girls' Swimming
            Contest and the overall points score.
         March 16-17 : Girls' G.P.S. Swimming Carnival was held at the Valley Baths.
         March 19 : "Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast".
            At the visit to the Symphony Concert, the students heard GOOD music for
            a change.
         March 23-30 : "It is the contest that delights us, not the victory"; which was
            just as well at Q.S.S.S.S.A. Swimming Carnival. Congratulations to our
            Roma visitors.
         April 9 : "So much to do, so little done".
            First Term examinations commenced.
         April 17 : "We part only to meet again".
            Temporary absence of our Principal.
         April 24 : Anzac Day Commemoration in the school grounds. Our principal
            speaker was Lt. Col. Magarry, M.C.
         April 25 : Cadets participated in local Anzac Day march.
         May 2 : Congratulations to Donald Lewers of 5A 2, who won the 4KQ talent
            quest and a trip to New Zealand. In the belief that "man is a social
            animal", First Term Social was held. Miss Reid, who was partnered by
            Eldon Kelk, won the Twist competition.
         May 7 : Cadets suitably recorded their loyalty on the occasion of the O.C.'s
            wedding with a presentation and a guard of honour.
         May 15 : Basketball umpires' exam. held.
         May 19 : "I want to see you shoot the way you shout".
            Cadet rifle shoot at Enoggera. Special mention to Gordon Boyd of Form 6,
             who scored a brilliant 100%.
         June 6 : "Ah! happy years! Once more who would not be a boy!"
             The youth of Wynnum High paraded through the City on the day of the
             Youth March.
         June 7 : At a garden party at Government House, our school captains were
             presented to Princess Alice.
         June 9 : Girls' first G.P.S. sports afternoon; clayed Clayfield College.
         July 7 : G.P.S. fixture was played against St. Peter's.
         July 17 : Junior forms saw the film "Macbeth".
         July 18-25 : "They laboriously write nothing”.
             Second term examinations were held.
         July 27 : Bremer students paid W.S.H.S. the annual visit, and took most of the
             honours on the sporting field.
         August 1 : A number of students "Tripped the light fantastic" at the Term 2
             social.
         August 3 : "Hark! from the tombs a doleful sound".
             First meeting of the choir for the year.
         August 7 : Inter-house sports held, with Kennedy winning the overall points total.
         August 9 : The main body of cadets departed for camp at Greenbank.
         August 10 : "Fie and away, for it is the bell and it tolleth for me", cried staff
