Inter-School football started.
Tennis commenced between schools.
May 25 : Annual school fete day. As usual, there was a mannequin
parade, roll 'ems, darts, and a past students’ stall. Cadets
paraded, and were inspected by Brisbane’s Lord Mayor.
June 21 : First ever School Tennis Champions ended with B. Costello
winner. R. Tovey won the girls’ competition.
July 23 : “Present mirth hath present laughter.”
School photos taken. Everyone wore a tie and badge !
July 31 : “To be or not to be."
students travelled to Brisbane to see stage presentation of
“Hamlet.”
High School second term social.
August 1 : Cadet Photos taken, everyone (mostly the officers) looked
a little the worse for wear.
August 6 : Advance party for school cadet camp left.
August 7 : Cadets left for camp. What a send-off !

August vacation.
August 11 : Camp visiting day, Principal and Deputy-Principal, as well
as parents and friends, visited.
August 26 : Third term service. Address, Rev. F. Wilson.
September 2 : Crusaders’ combined meeting, first of term.
September 3 : “But soon his course was o’er.”
High School Sports’ day, Griffith House ran clearly ahead of all
competition.
September 6 : “A cloud of dust on the long white trail.”
Annual High School boys’ cross-country. Ralph Railings won
and broke record for third time.
September 11 : “An hour to play and the last man in.”
Inter-House cricket started, Lilley winner.
September 20 : Primary Schools’ athletic meet—Wynnum again
performed creditably.
September 23 : Students travelled to Brisbane for the Schools' Symphony
Concert and were entertained by “Music sweet as love.”
September 24 : Pennants awarded to various successful football teams.
In the words of our famous bard, “Shakespeare,” they won
because they “did not wait nor waver,”
Took ball in paw and dived to score—”.

September 27 : “The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place.”
The annual sports meet of the Q, four S’s A (etc.) was held
at the Exhibition Ground in Brisbane. The girls were once
again successful in winning the second grade cup, and the boys
were an unlucky second.
October 2 : Inter-House tennis first matches were played.
October 10 : Cadets Passing-out Parade, ceremonial guard performed.
The Band, with a very creditable performance throughout the
year, won the Cafferky Shield.
With the closing date of magazine entries in the off-ing and
exams, not far off, “I always hear “Time’s winged chariot
hurrying near,” so good luck to candidates for examinations.
