FORM 2G
Form 2G is honoured to be the first class in the Intermediate of that
name. In the early part of the year we heard continual hammering,
screeching of saws, and churning of the cement mixer. Just when we
thought everything had quietened down the electricians came into the
room and started drilling holes through the walls.
Our Form captains are Jean Briscoe and Kevin Cloherty, while
Peter Bond and Robyn Harrison are our two best students. Congratu
lations go to Graham Pearson, who held the position of captain in the
open weight Rugby League team and also Junior Athletic Champion.
Our Rugby League players are Ken Freeze, Robert McAllister, Alan
Thurlow, John Pyle, Keith Curry, Russel Beakey, Ernest Shelford,
Arthur Burgess, Ross Day and Kevin Cloherty.
Two of our members were also included in the soccer team. They
were Peter Bond and Richard Forward, and Richard was captain. Inter
House cricket is also a popular game played by many boys, and again
we have Peter, captain of Wentworth House and Richard, Griffith House
captain.
The following girls, Beverly Brown, Nona Davis. Lorraine Johnston,
Jean Briscoe, Carol Bastow, Robyn Harrison and Elizabeth Thompson.
formed our class basketball team, which was most successful, and
defeated all the other teams of Form 2, Of these girls, Beverly Brown
Nona Davis, Lorraine Johnston, Jean Briscoe, Robyn Harrison, Elizabeth
Thompson, Diane McMurdy and Carol Bastow played against the
Cleveland team and helped to bring success to the school.
Our newcomer, Brenda Cox, was a welcome addition, for she proved
a champion runner as well as a good scholar. With Beverly Brown,
Lorraine Johnston, Robyn Harrison, Jean Briscoe, Leonie Wisniewski,
she took part in the Inter-School Athletic competitions.
We wish all students success in the forthcoming examinations.
