Norovirus - Survival in the environment
Norovirus is stable in the environment and can survive for long periods:
➢ survives in temperatures as high as 63°C (145°F).
➢ survives for 12 hours on hard surfaces, and up to 12 days on
contaminated fabrics.
➢ found on several surfaces used for food preparation 7 days
after contamination.
➢ survives for months, maybe even years in contaminated still
water.
