Rudder space watertight door
The rudder space has a watertight deck escape hatch fitted into the deck, as well as a water-
tight door into the engine room. The rudder space houses the engine starting batteries, house
batteries, hydraulic steering gear and port and starboard exhaust tubes.
Engine room
This room accommodates the port engine and gearbox, starboard engine and gearbox, electric
and mechanical bilge pumps, vessel electrical systems and fire pump.
At the aft end is the watertight door into the rudder space and up to the emergency escape
hatch. At the forward end of the engine room is the watertight door into the tank space.
Tank space
At the aft end of the tank space is a watertight door into the engine room, at the forward end is
a watertight door into the forward cabin.
The tank space contains the port fuel tank (1 000 L) and the chemical toilet on the port side,
and the starboard fuel tank (1 000 L) and vessel workbench, tools, oils, coolant etc on the star-
board side.
Forward Cabin
This room has a watertight door into the tank space, and up into the wheelhouse. The forward
cabin has seating for survivors, storage space for first aid equipment, a small kitchen, foul
weather gear hanging space, anchor chain and rope storage.
There is an escape hatch in the forward cabin roof, with a fold up escape ladder for this pur-
pose.
Wheelhouse
The wheelhouse has the main watertight door to the aft deck, and a watertight door down into
the forward cabin. The wheelhouse has the crew seats, navigation and communication equip-
ment and vessel controls.
