               School Health Related Programs and Initiatives in Egypt:


                                    National School Feeding Program

                      School  feeding  provides  children  with  a  nutritional  meal  that

               responds  to  the  nutritional  needs  of  school  children,  improves  their
               cognitive capacities, and also eases some of the financial burden on their

               families. World food program (WFP) in Egypt has been supporting the
               National  School  Feeding  Program  (NSFP)  since  1968  and  is  currently

               reaching 636,000 children with its in-school fortified date bar snacks.

                      In  2010,  Egypt  food  bank  (EFB)  launched  the  school  feeding

               program  establishing  school  feeding  kitchens  in  the  poorest  primary

               governmental schools in order to provide a daily hot nutritious meal to
               students throughout their school year.

                                 Nour al-Hayat initiative (January 2019)

                      Nour  al-Hayat  or  Nour  Al-Ayoun  initiative  launched  by  the

               President in 25 January 2019 to combat the causes of blindness and poor
               vision for those who are unable to pay the fees. This initiative takes into

               account the right of patients to have a good health and early examination
               to provide the necessary treatment ،Especially that the number of blind

               people in Egypt is nearly one million.

                               100 Million Health Initiative in schools


                     Screening for HCV and non-communicable diseases
                     The initiative was launched by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi under
                      the title "100 Million Health" to eradicate Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)
                      and chronic diseases.
                     Screening for anemia, stunting ,and obesity (16 feb-30

                      April 2019)
                     16  February  2019,  A  nationwide  campaign  to  screen  school
                      students  was  launched.  The  purpose  was  to  determine  the
                      prevalence  of  obesity,  anemia,  and  stunting.  The  screening  was
                      targeting almost 12 million students - aged between six and 12 - at

                      22,000  public,  private,  and  Azhar  schools. Students  who  need
                      treatment would be referred to a Health Insurance clinic, to receive
                      a free service.
