4. Analysis of seminal fluid for men to determine the various
proprieties as speed, morphology, volume and number of sperms
for early detection and intervention in case of infertility.
B. Premarital education
Premarital education should be early during puberty, adolescence
period as well as adulthood to guide and prepare couples for marriage.
Principles of health education should be applied when educating about
premarital topics including assessment of their needs, selection of proper
educational method and media, setting educational objectives and
evaluation of the health education session.
The following areas of health education should be emphasized:
1- Parent health 2- Nutrition
3- Safe environment 4- Role of the father
5- Role of the mother 6- Child rearing
7- Sex education 8- Family planning
C. Premarital counseling:
It is a communication process in which the counselor tries to
provide a couple with complete & accurate information on
responsibilities of marriage and encourage the couple to explore &
communicate their individual needs, goals, values and deficiencies. It is
a chance of the couple to verbalize their expectations of marriage
including any fears & anxieties they may have.
This counseling helps to prepare couples for marriage. It includes
counseling in sexuality, sexual health and sexual problems.
Preparation for parenthood can be discussed during premarital
counseling as well as family planning concept, benefits methods and
available services in the community.
