They may use non-specific verbs - %u2018he%u2019s going/doing%u2019.%u2022 Verbs are the essential pivot of a sentence. Once a child uses verbs he can add other key pieces of information. Without verbs, sentence structures will be poor or limited.%u2022 AL - Children with AL often use non-specific verbs in the new language as a normal part of second language acquisition.4.4.1 Practical%u2022 Give learners copies of handout 4.4.1 which are verb pictures.%u2022 Divide learners into groups of 3s or 4s.%u2022 Ask learners to write down two activities that use pictures like the ones given. These can be traditional games e.g. skittles with the pictures attached and you take turns to name the action when the skittle is knocked over.
