3) LIC offers ‘Bima Nivesh’ policy which is investment oriented. Returns here are as

good as PPF and are exempt from income tax while paying the premium and exempt

while receiving the claim.

An insurance agent would do well to emphasise on the income tax aspect for those

prospects who are investment addicts.

But it is wise and preferable to sell life insurance for what it is, emphasising its

intrinsic value. All over the world life insurance sells as life insurance. Life is the

most important property and this income earning property can be best protected

through life insurance. There is nothing, absolutely nothing yet invented by human

ingenuity, which can substitute life insurance. Therefore face the criticism with faith

and confidence. Do not allow a brinjal to be compared with an apple. Similar thing

only can be compared. And there is nothing which is even remotely similar to life

insurance. It is unique. There is no substitute for life insurance.

Sample this story. Two tourists were passing through a desert. In the night, they

heard a voice. "Carry some sand in your pocket. Tomorrow morning when you will

look at it , you will be both glad and sad" . They carried some sand in their pocket

and in the morning , it had turned into gold. They were glad because they had

carried some, but sad because they did not carry more.

That is life insurance.
