Workshop on Industry 4.0 using CIMCO products

                        9. Interfacing of MOXA Devices with CIMCO-MDC

As mentioned earlier, there are few machines on the shop floor, where there is no PLC, there is
no CNC Control, there is no MTConnect. In such cases, CIMCO MDC allows to use Digital & Ana-
log I-O devices, such as designed & manufactured by MOXA-Taiwan.
                      A) MOXA E-1210

This has 16 digital inputs & the output is Ethernet LAN. The
MTBF is 6,71,345 hours. Digitech has extensively used this de-
vice in many installations. AES Seal, Indo Schottle, Delta Corpo-
ration are the few names for the reference. This works on 24
VDC supply. In machine tool 24 V DC is easily available.

                      B) MOXA E-1214

This device has 6 digital inputs & 6 Relay outputs. There are
two Ethernet ports. With this device, CIMCO—MDC can not
only sense the input state of the machine, but it can send some
output such as a “warning lamp” using the Relay output. The
MTBF of this device is 6,71,345 hours. Digitech has used this
device in few of the MDC installations. The relay output is used
to trigger the warning lamp which is audio-visual alarm.

The Ethernet port of E-1214 can be configured in CIMCO-MDC
simply by giving the static IP address in CIMCO setting.
