14. What is MTTF, MTTD, MTBF & MTTR
The term MTBF means Mean Time Between Failure & MTTR means Mean Time To Repair.
These two values are important to evaluate the performance of the maintenance department
in a organization. CIMCO live screen will give you these values. Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) is
a very basic measure of reliability used for non-repairable systems. It represents the length of
time that an item is expected to last in operation until it fails. Let us understand both the con-
cepts from below figure
MTBF=Time between two failures
These two terms are normally used. But one should know other terminologies also.
