Group cover, including Group Life (Death Benefit), Monthly Disability
Income Benefit and Family Funeral benefits, was also taken out for
SAPPO employees.
SAPPO was looking at an Everyday Healthcare plan of SANLAM for

Baynesfield Training Academy
The members noted that Joseph Baynes Estate had taken over the
piggery, with SAPPO doing the training. A total of 134 students were
trained at the BTA, 20 of whom were government officials. The aim
was to get more government officials to complete the courses to
ensure that they influence more producers.
Actions that were taken during the past 12 months:
• The training material was reviewed.
• A SAPPO Hub was created at the BTA premises.
• A new kitchen was installed for catering on the premises and
the residents were moved closer to the kitchen and
classrooms. The staff were moved to the piggery side. The
infrastructure was very good.
• SAPPO took responsibility for the training and Joseph Baynes
Estate took responsibility for the piggery. The partnership is
very good and the split works well.
The members expressed their appreciation for the work done and
the progress made at the BTA.
James Jenkinson complimented SAPPO on the work done with
Business Development.
