P. 17

Decision:
The board approved the R2,5 million to be transferred to the Santam
                         self-insured fund. – EB 21/2019-04/09/19

The meeting noted that there was good communication and co-
operation between the industry and government. SAPPO had
shown goodwill towards the government by culling the pigs on its
behalf, but was now pulling back.

Johann Kotzé and Dr Peter Evans met with government officials on
various occations. Dr Ramasodi (Deputy Director-General)
assumed responsibility for ensuring that compensation is dealt with
                         from government side.

                   4.3 Danie du Plessis

The meeting noted that Danie du Plessis had resigned as chairman
                         of the audit committee.

A decision will be taken on how the audit committee should be
managed in future. It was suggested that he should be replaced
                         with a non-auditor.

Middle and Partners, the current appointed auditing firm, must be
asked to change the partner responsible for auditing SAPPO’s
                         financial statements.
