GOLF CLUB NAME - VENUE AUDIT
FINDINGS
In 2019, society revenue was €108,934, which consisted of 201 golf societies. The average society green
fee in 2019 was €26.72. In 2020 (to date), the society revenue is approx. €136,115 (BRS Report) which
consists of 171 golf societies.
From the 171 society bookings that are currently on the system, approx. 105 of these are on a Saturday
with the majority playing during 09.30 – 13.00. (see below reports Fig 1.1 and Fig 1.2).
• 37 of the 171 (36%) ‘Saturday’ bookings are paying €40.
• 68 of the 171 (64%) ‘Saturday’ bookings are paying €35.
In 2020 (to date), there are approx. 54 hotel/resident group bookings made in 2020 (BRS Report). The golf
club only gets €17 (midweek) and €20 (weekend) which is a very low amount considering some of the
groups are taking up peak times on the timesheet.
Notes:
There will be more society bookings taken over the next few weeks, and there will be a wash down in the
actual numbers that play, so the 2020 figures are approx.
There are differences between the figure on BRS and the figures in the weekly report. We went through this
with Norma, and a few group bookings are missing from the report.
There seems to have been a washdown of approx. 22% in 2019. The ‘projected’ revenue on the BRS system
for 2019 was €140,551.
OTHER FINDINGS TO NOTE:
• At the moment, 39 (23%) out of 171 societies have paid booking deposits, so 132 groups (77%) have yet to
pay any deposit to confirm the booking.
• Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort held a society invitational day in December 2019.
• There is limited signage to welcome the societies on the day.
• The society golf sales process is generally good but can improve with the use of a CRM system.
• There is no upselling offered to groups when they book in.
• Societies play in fourballs with 10-minute intervals.
