GOLF CLUB NAME - VENUE AUDIT
FINDINGS
In 2019, Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort hosted three corporate events. In 2020 (to date), just one corporate
event is booked. A small bit of work was done by previous staff members but had limited success.
CONCLUSIONS
This is an area of obvious growth, and with the corporate golf market making a comeback, it’s an area
that warrants a focus. With the recent improvements to both the golf course, clubhouse and the overall
facilities, the golf club is well equipped to host corporate events of all sizes. Couple this with the facilities
at the hotel, Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort, should be primed to sell itself as a corporate golf destination.
RECOMMENDATIONS
In summary, our recommendations are to put more of a focus on the corporate golf market through
creating the marketing material, pushing it out across all platforms and retargeting to the people who
expressed an interest in hosting a corporate event.
Other factors, such as having access to Simon Thornton and the hosting of the Euro-Pro Tour event must
be better utilised.
Below are some of the main areas that need prioritisation to grow corporate golf.
• Create specific corporate golf packages
• Put a plan in place to make Simon Thornton a part of packages to add value
• Invite potential clients to a corporate golf invitation day
• Complete a full corporate golf sales process targeting local businesses, local GAA/Sports clubs etc.
• Create all relevant marketing material to allow us to promote corporate golf across all platforms.
• Offer a discount to members if they wanted to host a corporate golf event.
