Some Apps you could try include:
Headspace, a resource that has been around for quite some time
and offers simple explanations and visual aids. Everyone has access
to some free resources and the option to pay to upgrade. There is
also an option of Headspace for children.
Smiling Minds, a simple and free guide to meditation that is easy
to use, well resourced and engaging. Smiling Minds also offers
great meditations for children.
Insight Timer is another free app that has paid upgrade options.
It offers and endless variety of meditation styles that are not all
considered to be mindfulness but may be of interest.
Courses:
The best thing to consider, if you are keen to take part in a secular eight-week mindfulness course,
is the relationship you have with the teacher. If you are researching online or in-person courses
that are available to you, it is a good idea to engage with the teacher beforehand to see if you feel
that you can have a positive relationship with that person. This is important because you want to
feel supported and at ease throughout.
