Some benefits of

        mindfulness

It is important to note at this point that although mindfulness can offer a large number of benefits
for people and can instil seemingly small changes that can have hugely positive effects, this is not a
        quick fix for all ailments.

Each of us responds differently to interventions, whether they are based in western medicine, psy-
chological practice or something entirely different so it is important to bear this in mind if embark-
ing on a mindfulness practice is something you are considering.

While there is a wealth of evidence supporting the positive impact that mindfulness can have it
does require a significant level of investment from those hoping to benefit from it and therefore

the expectations of the practice need to be met with effort – patience and non-judgement are key.
Here are just some of the things one might expect to get from a regular mindfulness practice:

Reduced Stress: this comes from a greater Increased Emotional Connectivity: with a better
ability to recognise and manage stress before understanding of ourselves comes a greater
it escalates too much understanding of others

Improved Resilience: derived from an increased Improved Physical Wellbeing: a better
capacity to overcome daily challenges awareness of physical symptoms that need our

attention and a more active response to them
Increased Focus: regular practice leads to
an improved ability to pay attention and Improved overall sense of Health and Wellbeing:
concentrate our physical and mental health feels more
practicable as our awareness is brought to
Improved Emotional Regulation: we are less it more frequently
