Hands-On Exercises 2. Simplified structure of cell wall

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize you with the simplified structure of cell
wall in the woods.

Learning Outcomes – Upon completion of this exercise you should be able to:
- determine type of primary wall, secondary wall (outer, middle and inner wall)
- identify wood structure using the basic techniques for describing and sampling woods
- classify wood samples according to common names, scientific name and family name

Instruction: Illustrate the simplified structure of cell wall of the wood, identify and label the
parts
