5 - Profiling³: in recruiting: finding the right employees
The task of corporate management. The following applies: It is
not so much a question of co-workers, but of people who want
to work together with you on the success of the company and
actively shape the future. The challenges of the future require
change processes that you can master with people who want
to change.
Pursuing a holistic approach
In many companies, employee development starts too far
down the line. Top management relies on the fact that a
department head, for example, will already know which
employees his department needs. It is then up to him or her to
draw up a job profile and start looking for applicants. It is more
productive to ask what the new employee must be able to do
in order to contribute optimally to achieving the company's
goals - not just the departmental goals. What is needed is a
holistic approach that focuses on the development of the entire
company. "Holistic" in this context means:
• All parties involved pull together and strive to link
employee development to the company's long-term
strategy and objectives.
• The hiring of new employees, as well as their training and
development, are placed in the context of the company's
vision, values, corporate principles, strategies and goals.
• It is about "the person in the employee". It is not enough to
find the best employee for the vacant position. The person
and the job must fit together exactly - the employee should
define the new position.
