BEHAVIORAL STYLE COMBINATIONS REVEAL . . .
• With an expressive, sunny yellow individual, deliver criti-
cism gently, balancing factual content with maintaining the
relationship.
• Steady, earth-green employees may take criticism person-
ally, so offer comprehensive context to encourage proactive
problem-solving.
• For people with an analytical, ice-blue style who may over-
analyze feedback, guide them toward practical conflict reso-
lution, supporting their decision-making process.
In teamwork, utilizing the diverse behavioral styles ensures a well-
rounded group where each member’s strengths are utilized and
complement each other. However, caution is advised when pairing
direct, fiery-red individuals with reserved, analytical, ice-blue col-
leagues, as the more assertive person may overshadow the other.
COMBINING STYLES: THE EIGHT SEGMENTS OF
THE SUCCESS INSIGHTS WHEEL
You’re already familiar with the concept: There are overlaps among
the four primary behavioral types. A person might exhibit traits of
both the assertive red and the sociable yellow, for example. To ac-
commodate these complex behavioral style combinations, TTI has
created the Success Insights Wheel, which divides the primary styles
into eight distinct segments named to identify the functional roles
they are best equipped to fill. Each segment, style or style combina-
tion, and role is defined by their most pronounced traits:
Conductor (D): Individuals who are forthright, decisive, and
focused on achieving results.
