Page 59 - Jeremiah Lollipop
P. 59
The Flooble leaned over and stared at Jeremiah with its huge green
eye.
“Maybe YOU are a better example of human than those other two?
Maybe you can reveal what a real human is like? Are you dumb cuisine,
perhaps the dumbest life on the planet, or is there some strength, or
power hidden underneath that I haven’t discovered? I will have to use
the mind probe to find out!”
As the Flooble spoke it waved a tentacle and two lights automatically
came on in the large, dark room. One bright circle of light hit Jeremiah’s
dad, and other his mother.
Jeremiah looked at his parents in dismay as the Flooble gurgled and
spluttered.
Suddenly the words of his newspaper-loving dad came to him.
“I’ve had enough of your imagination! It’s nothing but trouble!”
Jeremiah wondered if his imagination, that special part of him that
made him so different from his mum and dad, might be the very thing
that would make the difference here? He started thinking back, gathering
into his head some of the things he had imagined in the last few days.
The mind probe clicked into place and several big screens lit up. The
Flooble twiddled a few knobs and watched as the contents of Jeremiah’s
mind appeared.
First came a picture of Jeremiah shaped like a lollipop.
“What?!?” said the Flooble, staring at the weird picture in surprise.
