Chapter Twelve
Departure
The Flooble staggered backwards and fell over. It dragged itself
through the door and stumbled down the passage into the control room.
Fearfully it pressed buttons and sent all the specimens it had captured
back to where they had come from.
“I must get out of here!” it said, “This planet is too dangerous! These
humans are not what they seem! They share their DNA with all other life
on the planet, so the whole planet is the same! They’re all dangerous!
Help!”
With a mighty roar the Intergalactic Fast Food Factory Gourmet Food
Collectors Incorporated rocket took off and shot out of the atmosphere.
Jeremiah found himself lying on the beach. He stood up, dusted some
of the sand off his arms and legs, and walked back to the tunnel. It was
easy to find because the lights were still on, and the hole in the cliff
stood out brightly.
He walked back along the tunnel until he reached the other end, and
there he found Mr. Flannel, wide awake now, sitting on the front step of
his house, and very pleased to see him again. Jeremiah explained what
had happened, then together they walked to Jeremiah’s house. His
