Page 60 - Jeremiah Lollipop
P. 60
The lollipop boy hopped about like a kangaroo on a pogo stick, across
a wide open field until it came to a swimming pool where it stopped and
stood at the edge, then it changed into a large, almost round lump,
exactly the same as the lumps all round the sides of the pool. There were
hundreds of these strange, lumpy creatures, all white and puffed up, like
clouds, with little arms and legs. In the pool were several of these
strange round, white things actually swimming, and all the spectators
cheered them on.
The Flooble stared at Jeremiah, then at the screen, then at Jeremiah
again.
“You can change your shape!” it gasped, “This is UNBELIEVABLE!
You humans are so biologically advanced you are right off the scale!
Not even Floobles can do this! You are a very DANGEROUS species!”
Jeremiah smiled.
“You ain’t seen nothin' yet!” he said with an evil little chuckle.
In a twinkling Jeremiah changed from puffed wheat into a beautiful
princess, then into a chicken. He scratched the ground with his chicken
feet and pecked with his chicken beak, and then started to run, and run,
with his long, orange chicken legs. He wore a red scarf, which flapped in
the wind. He ran until his own running created a wind, which tore at the
land and ripped up trees, and threw rocks about, and then suddenly he
was another creature, huge and green, like a frog and a lizard combined.
“I am the Grand Pongo!” he boomed, “And I can eat anything!”
