CONCLUSION
Starting an organic garden will provide you with fresh, healthy food which tastes
better and costs less than anything you can find in a store. It's something that
anyone can do, regardless of space restrictions, or climate since you can create a
garden which meets your needs and fits into your lifestyle.
Choose the plants which you want to eat, and
which will do well in your garden's conditions.
There are a host of options available from salad
vegetables, to herbs and spices, and even fruit.
You can make things easier by purchasing
seedlings and established plants and using
container gardens which will cut down on the
amount of physical labor involved.Or you can go
all out and sow your own seeds and create a
food forest in your backyard. The choice is yours and you can't lose either way.
Once you have established your garden, regular maintenance will be the key to
harvesting fresh food year after year. By setting up a watering system, mulching
regularly, keeping weeds under control, and eliminating pests and treating any
diseases, you will be setting the stage for a garden which will continue to
produce.
In fact, your garden will be so successful, that you'll need to make sure you know
what to do with all the food you'll soon have.
Whether canning, freezing or drying, you'll be
able to keep nutrient-rich food on hand all
year long.
All it takes is a little planning, some
preparation, research, and finally the planting
and harvesting. It does take time and
commitment, but the rewards are immense.
