Have you ever wondered why parent birds feed their young?
Of course HUMANS understand that if the young are not fed,
they will die, but birds don't consider things like that. They
just do what they do, and when the young grow up, they
repeat the same things.
For example, take the eastern bluebird.
These birds have a curious habit of choosing which chicks
to feed.
The female is happy to poke grubs into the mouths of
whichever chick is nearest, but the male picks the female
chicks twice as often.
Why would he do this?
When female easter bluebirds leave the nest, they do one of
two things. If they are males, they stay near, and end up
competing with their parents.
If thef are female, they fly far away
and pose no competitive threat.
Does the male bluebird know this?
Of course not. He is driven by instinct.
God's design for animals is that they
spread out and populate the planet.
By feeding the females, the male
bluebird is simply helping to obey
God's plan for all living creatures.
Healthy, well-fed bluebird females
are able to take the bluebird
species further that weakling offspring.
