And it is so sad when the only reason all this is happening
is a lack of education, fear of the unknown, common
human arrogance and runaway ego, and any of a host of
common human frailties and disorders that cause us to
mistreat each other on a daily basis. All of these disorders
can be erased from the human experience, but it will take
generations. So be it. It was apparently the way it is
supposed to be. So if you agree, let's get cracking out there.
Things can only improve.

Your Soul: The Importance of Your Word

One of the very most important aspects of the human
personality is the concept of Your Word. Human
communication can encompass so many things, but perhaps
some of the most important words you will ever utter will
be when you are Giving Your Word —and these words,
which represent The Truth, should come straight from your
soul.

When you give your word on something, it is symbolic for
not only how much you believe in the person you are
talking to, but also how much you believe in yourself. For
if you believe in yourself as a being to whom spiritual
growth is important, your word is the spoken manifestation
of just that, and a manifestation of the truth at large. The
sound of words may dissipate into the thin air as you speak
them, but their meaning lasts forever. If you have spoken
the truth and do not compromise your word, spiritual
growth is achieved. If your word has been spoken in vain,
spiritual growth is suppressed. We will talk more about the
concept of truth in coming chapters but as the late Texas
guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan always said, Your Word is
the one thing you came in with, and the only thing you take
with you. Remember that simple truth and more truths will
be revealed.
