Problems and remedies of tablet coating
Coating process
1- Blistering
It is the local detachment of film from the substrate forming blister.
Cause Remedy
Entrapment of gases in or underneath Use mild drying condition.
the film due to overheating either
during spraying or at the end of the
coating run, which affect the strength,
elasticity, and adhesion of the film.
2- Cratering:
It is a defect of film coating whereby volcanic-like craters appears exposing the
tablet surface.
