5.8.12 Bills of Quantities

Bills of quantities are provided to facilitate the contractor to make an estimate.It contains
elements that are involved in the building.When make estimation, it will consider:

 Material cost including transportation and wastage

 Machinery cost.
 Labour cost
 Transportation cost

 Profit.
The BQ for building works is based on the Standard Method of Measurement

(SMM) book issued by Royal Institution of Surveyor Malaysia (RISM). For civil
engineering work, is based on Malaysian Civil Engineering Standard Method of
Measurement (MyCESMM) book issued by CIDB.
